IMPACT's music is a reflection of life. This close-knit group sings about the things that matter most to them: family, friends, relationships, racial harmony, belief in a higher power, peace and overwhelming love.
IMPACT is comprised of two friends who have been justlikethis for more than 25 years and a brother-in-law who's been a member of the family for nearly a decade. They sing what they know: if it happened to one, it was experienced by them all.
"My Precious Child" and "Mama" express appreciation for the contribution each made to the guys' lives.
"My Girl (I'm Crazy Over You)" extols the virtues of a significant other, while "Can I Be the Man?" seeks a response to unanswered questions. "Goodbye Love" takes a look at the choices one often has to make in life.
Michael and Brian have been best friends since kindergarten. "For the Love of Love" explores the feelings of loss one would feel if something happened to the other.
"Keep Looking Up" leaves no doubt as to IMPACT's daily source of strength and inspiration, and "Better Dayz" is filled with hope and optimism.
"Under Pressure" stresses that love and knowledge are the best weapons in the battle for racial harmony and "Love Sweet Love" examines mind-sets and bigotry.
"I Do That" is a whimsical, just-for-fun little ditty that doesn't do much of anything except promote a good feeling. When IMPACT does the song in concert, folks are taken aback by the radical departure from the group's usually reserved style.
Organizers of the Tennessee Summer Jam Fest praised IMPACT's performance, saying, "With no pun intended, I see why they chose this name. The impact that they made in this production was like a breath of fresh air!"
And the head of the entertainment committee of the 2003 Harvest Festival agreed: "These young men are the epitome of what entertainers should be." |
